If these are the times we're living in, we really do have a problem.

Posted: Saturday, 18 February 2012 | Posted by k | Labels: 2 comments

So, i went and saw quite a few things in the Forum section of this year's Berlinale, namely these:

"Avalon" by Axel Petersén
which I thought strange but somehow I did not leave

"Bagrut Lochamim" by Silvina Landsmann
which made me very angry even though there were no surprises

"Bestiaire" by Claire Côté
which I loved for its patience

"Beziehungsweisen" by Calle Overweg
which annoyed me from the start as I was told to laugh even though I actually liked it

"Formentera" by Ann-Kristin Reyels
which was the most pretentious thing

"Habiter / Construire" by Clémence Ancelin
which I liked a lot although some anthropological concerns came up

"Kid-Thing" by David Zellner
which was so powerful and honest

"Parabeton - Pier Luigi Nervi und römischer Beton" by Heinz Emigholz
which I disliked for its lack of patience, something that really disappointed me as I do like Emigholz a lot

"Paziraie Sadeh" by Mani Haghighi
which was dramaturgically exciting

"Revision" by Philip Scheffner
which I loved for its insistence, its passion, its purposeful stride

"Sekret" by Przemysław Wojcieszek
which irritated me but kept me fascinated by the set of its three protagonists

"Sleepless Knights" by Stefan Butzmühlen and Cristina Diz
which was something I could not relate to

"Spanien" by Anja Salomonowitz
which made me think it is great to have movies and directors like this

"Tepenin Ardı" by Emin Alper
which intrigued me

"Tiens moi droite" by Zoé Chantre
which was very tender and uplifting in a way

"What is Love" by Ruth Mader
which caused me to feel rather embarrassed at times

My personal highlight was actually Yazan Khalili's "On love and other landscapes" in the Forum Expanded section, which I thought a very moving photographic meditation on how to embrace an absence that is not an absence but a presence one chooses to look away from. How this seems so impossible. But how we try to live with it. How perhaps we all have, in fact desire or need a wall in our conscience about where to look, with whose eyes and feelings.
How a wall is a wall even though we don't see it in these photos.

Speaking of seeing, and if we were to not see: listening to these movies' sound design which I am tempted to call hyperrealistic at times, was one way of avoiding the societal blindings we saw (or rather did not see): such a vast collection of intimate and intrusive noises in these movies and no way to shut your ears. But, really, that is important. (Speaking of sound: Elle Flanders' and Tamira Sawatzky's "Road Movie" in Forum Expanded perhaps most clearly stages this necessity to listen in its audio-installation of megaphones hanging from the ceiling in a damp cellar.)

Jokingly, we were talking about the Forum being the "animal-section" - if it was, I think there is a good chance the ant may be this year's animal of interest being a rather prominent participant in at least three movies I saw. (Which may be no indication after all).

Perhaps it is rather general to phrase it like this, but I thought most of these movies really depressing as representations of the times we live in, and the perspectives shown and decided upon. How relieved I somewhat felt to laugh (yes, perhaps that was naive after all) in the beginning of "Paziraie Sadeh", only to be dragged into one of the most brutal psychological patterns. A notion of not exactly hopelessness but rather something alike powerless indifference in so many of the characters. Like the tired and aged 10-year old in "Kid-Thing", an almost perfect mirroring of the movie's first frames - damaged cars, falling apart, being crashed and smashed on a dirty sand field somewhere, no wheels but rims to drive on, bared damaged goods with drivers sitting inside these shells of metal, wearing helmets, bringing their cars down - for fun? out of frustration? it almost does not seem to matter, destruction reigns, a strange appreciation for decreasing material values turns into indifference towards emotional values and vulnerabilities.

Suddenly there were so many worthless casualties it seemed. Dead people? Great, yeah, never mind, life goes on, what do I care.

If these are the times we're living in, we really do have a problem.

do come.

and

Posted: Friday, 8 May 2009 | Posted by k | Labels: , 0 comments

this gem by serj tankian (the singer of system of a down ...) here, from his first solo album "elect the dead". the video is directed by lebanese/armenian/american director gariné torossian whose first feature length documentary "stone time touch" was shown in the 2007 international forum of new cinema. i love how she treats the material.

how fantastic tsai ming liang depicts the characters' state of feeling and mind is beyond words which are so rarely (i think there is one actual spoken dialogue consisting of two lines) used besides in the lyrics of the enigmatically and beautifully campy songs. this film smashes my all every time i see it.

of soul power and fig trees, maybe

Posted: Wednesday, 11 February 2009 | Posted by k | Labels: 0 comments

met m. today for a screening of fig trees, a sort of opera-documentary about hiv/aids and activism in the fight against it that structurally worked as a opera and/or musical. pretty much unsure of what to make of it.

i see (well, obviously i see ...) the poignant wish to depict difficult topics as something cynically, or not even that, perhaps only humorously, wrapped. i felt that the tendency to do that was also there in השמצה/defamation. generally there is not much to be held against this but my own feeling of sickness while watching it in a room full of people who seemed to think that a group of israeli students in front of the "arbeit macht frei"-gate posing for a keepsake, not saying "chesse" but a chorus-"auschwitz", was an uproariously funny joke. actually i really liked the movie but found watching it in the cinema rather difficult, but maybe that is part of the process of thinking about it.

later tonight we saw soul power. this was just wonderful and such a joyful experience. incredibly well mastered sound met depictions of soul legends that nowadays could not possibly be filmed.

berlinale will all be over soonish. i can't say i am as relieved by the prospect as maybe i would rationally rather be. well, but then again we have a lot of exiting things ahead of us still, as of tomorrow the filmic oevre by ludwig schönherr will be shown for the first time in public.

i can now sign my posts as an academic. i only will have to convince the prüfungsbüro about the necessity of getting rid of that A.

saw man tänker sitt again.

of burrowing

Posted: | Posted by k | Labels: , , , 0 comments

going back from potsdamer platz to my flat tonight was rather strange. a sort of alertness found its way back into my brain (... actually i just wrote "may brain" ... maybe may then). i am glad it has, to be perfectly honest.

alert indeed i was some days ago by the picture that was, in a packet of posters, sent to the forum office and on display in its wrapping some hours. intrigued i thought that this must be my favourite movie of the programm. i never even knew, then, what it was about, by whom, etc. tonight i finally made it to a screening of man tänker sitt (burrowing) and can say i was rarely as moved as with this debut by fredrik wenzel, henrik hellström. this depiction of solitude/loneliness/vulnerability/subliminal violence was so modestly brilliant and breathtakingly shot. the character of sebastian, a young boy, leaves traces of his whimsical, 'naive' wisdom in the narrational structure by overvoices. feeling of being vulnerable oneself as a viewer because of the ordinariness of situations and places. structurally you might judge sebastian's way of looking at things as something that will pass, some wishful thinking - as in the notion of his hope that his own loneliness is something that might be dealt with later in his life as he sort of settles professionally, emotionally. this inert wish striked me as so human. the cinematography as one way of staging the seclusion was just wonderful. but then this paradox of this hope he maybe carries within himself for himself (?) clashes with the precise descriptions of everyday suburban horrors he gives.

writing this now makes me think i should have just said nothing as what i was going through during the screening was just beyond words. which in itself might be something that helps to sensually grasp the lack of humanness in human interactions. man tänker sitt, if i understood correctly, means something like "everybody has their own thoughts". we have. yes. we have.

the aforementioned "unification" during berlinale only goes so far. wondering how the area around potsdamer platz would actually look like seen from above. because additionally to a zillion posters and billboards comes a lighting strategy that sort of stars out from potsdamer platz through all the streets on which there is some berlinale-connected building. remarkable as usual - despite all those lamps being red the ones for talent campus are pink.

a red center, a beating heart of humanness or lack thereof.

all expanded

Posted: Saturday, 7 February 2009 | Posted by k | Labels: , , , 0 comments

trying for the third time to start this post i realize that maybe there is nothing much to say besides stressing the notion of expanded in my current life.

lucky me shared a car for the openings on friday with team of forum expanded, stefanie, nanna and uli, expanded by barbara hammer and michael snow, later marie losier and sebastien sanz de santamaria. what i loved when i actually saw the exhibitions was pavel büchler at tanya leighton gallery and i am very much looking forward to being at the artist talk with them tomorrow. karoe goldt's piece in galerie antje wachs was sort of really sad. eyes die. i find that utterly disturbing.

a must see - ludwig schönherr. i love his work. the exhibiton (as the installation in filmhaus and the filmprogramm curated by marc siegel) in halle a/14 is really something else, seriously. anything structural/chaotic that resonates within you should call you to that place. and once you're there, have a closer look at bill viola's "transfiguration" in haunch of venison. it is beautiful beyond belief.

being 'inside' the festival as somebody working there makes me feel like michel de certeau again ... no kidding, looking down at potsdamer platz from the office is ridiculous sometimes and you wish corporate design was never created, though i do believe that this year's design is sort of sweet and subliminally very much fitting the notion of unified masses hustling down unified streets in their unified ways of feeling utterly busy and important.

but tv-man on super-big screen inside sony centre said "die stimmung ist gut am potsdamer platz".

i'll go get some sleep now and hopefully will dream of that summer day when there's nothing to do besides having eyes and heart open again. maybe there will be water, too, a lake with a view or a drenching curtain that'll transfigure me back into something b/w.

you can have a look at the other forum expanded events (films, exhibitions, performances, talks, tours ...) here. don't miss "farewell" by stefan zeyen in the black box at filmhaus! and - do enjoy marie losier's gorgeous "movie boxes".

today today

Posted: Tuesday, 21 October 2008 | Posted by k | Labels: , , , 4 comments

yes, today is the day i will quit smoking again :) so, pretty please, pressure from all sides ... bear/bare with me should i find it unbearably hard and fail (oh, that is naughty, maybe i should fail). well, i'll have sweetie darling to smoke for me, looking quite a lot more exciting doing it than i ever could anyways ...

as for the many other overwhelmingly exciting things happening, it's too many of them, i can't tell.

my washing powder got stuck in the slot. if that is interesting.

i was on the phone with one lady right now who told me i am supposed to have technicians around today, although that was never scheduled. how lovely. they're doing the buzzer.

saw striptease with nico. she was gorgeous and serge did a wonderful soundtrack to it. a. was all melting next to me and is now about to learn how she moves for that one dance at the end ...

since i recorded the ghosts of the reading i did with the last books here are the latest:
the world according to garp oh, i liked it, i guess. although it has this wooden quality of language a lot of times and seemed very 'easy'. interesting for me whom i love to pick quotes or underline things for later reference, i was only at rare points able to do that with garp. i rather think it is a certain atmosphere transported or story told, in simplicity and with no big fondling around with language, which i realize, is also just another way of using language, and it definitely fit. so maybe actually i am not really thrilled. but at least, after two trials on the irving-front i finished one and hadn't stopped reading after 50 pages. well well.
and i did something very enjoyable which was getting anne of green gables, thanks to j., and hach, isn't it just lovely to see such a melodramatic, tragic child? i love it and started the second novel ... reminds me ever so much of nesthäkchen and trotzkopf and makes me wonder whether i should not be a little too old for it ... well, but there is the arden hamelt waiting on my shelf and still some light reading aka proust which i think will be a splendid winter-read.
i also to the second third read in watermelon sugar by richard brautigan :)

wow, a lot.

i am also thrilled about the fact that i need to proofread texts and that there is material for seminars about to fill my head with fresh ideas.

re the filling. i added the literature part after 5 hours or so. i feel that my head wants to smoke. but i won't give in and allow myself 3 days of giving in to other temptations like chocolate. and i will go and have a walk. now that i missed the one seminar i am actually interested in because of waiting for the technician who, once here, only told me that it was a problem with the whole house and that there would be another date scheduled. grrrr.

seasoning reason or "i love you. i want to have your abortion."

Posted: Monday, 15 September 2008 | Posted by k | Labels: , , 2 comments

when i came back today from work i was having a little walk through reuterkiez and then sesamkiez and then my place of which i don't know any name. i came to realize, again, i might add, that both reuter and sesam are full of seasoning. and you might very well think it's a change of season why should there not be a seasoning in the air. you are so wrong. not air. no. floor. down on the streets there is loads of ripped little packings of seasoning for your very own ramen noodles dish. i wonder why and how that can be? i mean, obviously, we are not so much of a hyper-sophisticated city that allows citizens to boil water on the street, as of yet. how come there is seasoning packings all over? mistaking them for other packings or wrappings? nope. checked like 10 of them. all seasoning. so, maybe, there is a kind of art-project involved? i mean, how? i can understand crisps or gums packings, i can, but, seriously, seasoning for ramen noodles?!

well, i had my very own noodles today, they've been dipped in coconut-chili-ginger-peanut-etc.pp. and they've been yummy.

and what's wrong with the weather? thank god for lacan or i would have frozen my bollocks off although i am sitting here wrapped like an onion. reason tells me - turn the heat on - sod off, it's september, other part of reason replies.

well, been also cocooning myself with icelandic music, and if that is not warming i don't know what should be.

i've been watching quills and was a bit disappointed frankly speaking. well, but i don't like kate winslet anyhow, so that was to be expected.

read deleuze, too. and some more lovely žižek, so two quotes for tonight, whereas the first one (the parts in inverted commas) would actually be palahniuk, i presume:

„i love you. i want to have your abortion.“ this, and not the proverbial „i want to have your child“, is the ultimate expression of love: the gesture of sacrificing the offspring and thus asserting the love relationship as the absolute end-in-itself. (180)

when we are subjected to a power mechanism, this subjection is always and by definition sustained by some libidinal investment: the subjection itself generates a surplus-enjoyment of its own. this subjection is embodied in a network of „material“ bodily practices, and for this reason, we cannot get rid of our subjection through a merely intellectual reflection. our liberation has to be staged in some kind of bodily performance, and, furthermore, this performance has to be of an apparently „masochistic“ nature; it has to stage the painful process of hitting back at oneself. (183 f.)

(žižek: an ethical plea for lies and masochism. in: lacan and contemporary film, ed. mcgowan/kunkle)

bachelorette vids - immersion in serial virtual settings

on immersion in virtual realities, feedback, series, lost

i do very much appreciate feedback on this videos. part of the reason is in this video. the other is that i don't know how, yet, but i guess i maybe want to include some of it in my paper. so if you have the feeling that you can relate to one or another thing please leave a comment.

so there was terminator

Posted: Friday, 11 July 2008 | Posted by k | Labels: , , , , 0 comments

it has ended, the formal part at least. we're going to have curry later on.
so, every group this afternoon presented their work which either dealt with terminator (us), the wizard of oz or battleship potemkin. we had the idea, as posted before, to kind of create a visual duetting screen that subtexted the whole thing sexually. so, we went to that fancy second hand shop (massive!) and bought 80s style clothes ... we then decided on shooting right there in a small gateway. it was quite funny, though nerveracking at times to cut in camera. our frames basically showed the lower body parts and in there we had wuite the sexual tension (or healing) going on. several quite remarkable movements within that scene of terminator we shot in a kind of music-video, very bright kind of way. it was too funny and i hope we'll get a recording of it. there was sexual healing sung by sarah connor (why does she has that name?!?) on top of it :)
our film was projected right under the projection of terminator.
i liked it a lot.
during the discussion afterwards i felt a little silly because what i really wanted to say, couldn't seriously be said without exposing me or the person i was speaking about.
let's just say that all in all it was an amazing group of people i met here. some of them i would not really want to work with again, but the majority just really puzzled me by their brilliance, humour and ideas. lovely.
there is this wonderful cemetry closeby, i think there will be one new schwarzesnossen vid quite soon featuring that.
as for the weekend. let's just say there was no time until now to really see a lot of what nottingham might still be having for ust, so maybe we will jsut explore a little. and i need to have some shopping done. i already bought mint and tea tree oil shower gel and was reminded of a and my lost brochure somewhere in bedfordshire. well, the times when things seemed possible ...
i like being here a lot.
will shower now although that might not be of importance to you. but i will and now you know.
luv frum tuna.

hach.
and - i think now i know why i liked vanessa. look:

do i seem obsessed? ...

ladies and gentlemen

Posted: Friday, 6 June 2008 | Posted by k | Labels: , , , , 0 comments

jennifer, and i would like to quote myself, "who actually has the body and face and age of a to-be-soon-called-topmodel. she is just the apparently only sane choice an agent would do" - is germany's next topmodel! was she my private and professional favourite from the very first look or was she not? i confess that professionally i would have thought vanessa was superb, too, but she went by her own choice, something i have never really lamented about here. so that's my tears for vanessa who looked so incredibly beautiful ...........
thereby found future profession. i'll go and cast people. that's right. but for everything, not only just modelling.

anyhow, had a gig in magnet last friday. came back home 6. the beer. p out so long. g- wowwowowowowow!! thanks a lot for coming to c?, fe, fs, jg, ??, mb, pk, sk, sk. maybe chance of breakthrough went by. was nice hearing nothing but birds on the way back.

went to table dance bar saturday. came back home 5. the mirrored stage, the pole, the shabbyness, the "mother superior", the cheap drinks, the easyness of getting inside, the copied dollars, the smell, the us army sergeant who asked whether or not i worked there. good to have talked with m about it later that night. and curious about how we're going to present it in the seminar, because, obviously that's why we went, because of foucault.

went to see my father my lord which was shown in the jewish film festival. if that's a word, 'akin-esque' was maybe the camera, i liked the materiality. i also liked the actors partly. it was quite an easy plot and not overly edgy to be honest but it gave some very brutal comments on "religion over everything". some days ago i also saw ushpizin and that was really funny and beautifully tragic and comic. very old testament-esque if that is a word. went for an insightful drink with y. came back home 1.

was tired monday. slept. was angry about myself for falling for fucking mobile company mo****om. never ever go with that company. it is not usually my urge to bash (well, maybe yes) but this time, seriously, they're not what they're telling you.

edited my film eiszeit which will, and i am devastated about other parts of that arrangement, premier july 2nd at a forum of theatre students dealing with time, surprisingly enough.

after germany's next topmodel no3

Posted: Saturday, 15 March 2008 | Posted by k | Labels: , , , , 0 comments

firstly, let me thank my audience for being so supportive. thank you. thank you. i would never have guessed to receive an award because of being able to predict professional modeling choices. right. thank you. see, i told you (with ruc) that vanessa is special. well, we'll see. i am getting more interested in jennifer, whereas raquel loses some points for me.
and because the world is such a terrrible place and i lack sleep and food at this specific moment in time:

loved:
vanessa.
jennifer.

hated:
gisele.
sophia.

personal braindamage from earlier post turned out to be miss penthouse. she is now a naked braindamage which is no professional education i would not consider. why not, it could just be having a great time.

it was funny to talk to colleagues from university about gnt.

hackfresse and kotzbrocken are two ethymologically highly interesting and appropriate topics for this blog. this is why i wrote this last sentence.

***

so, homi k. bhaba was in berlin. at the re-imagining asia exhibition in the haus der kulturen der welt and he gave a keynote on "global memory. on barbaric transmission". his lecture was inspiring and at times truly engaging. and i think that his stressing the "past that is not going to die and a future that will not wait to be born" are a kind of nice way to characterize the human condition and the responsibilities that face each and everyone of us.

***

spent two hours talking about one painting of yl with yl.

***

second gig with marwell was marwellous. there were sk, fs, c?, fj, ruc, sf, cm, yl, nb. i liked that a lot :) thank you for coming. hang out afterwards with future management in freizeitheim and june in prenzlauer berg.

recently on myspace i found out that the roosters are now stalin vs. band. hh is looking his usual naughty standards which brings me to this:

am now about to have another slice of bread and envy organic food of present flatmates. later mini-break in saxony. suddenly feel like screengoddess in manner of grace kelly, though ever so slightly less elegant under pressure (which, basically is as nice a quotation as "i used to wanna change the world, now i just wanna leave the room with a little dignity (adorable justin bond in SHORTBUS - amazing. found my future occupation. am not about to tell which one - but give it a guess)). and - a mini-break is not just shagging. a mini-break means true love. looking forward to round belly, whiteish hair, otto and riverside, although it is just too little time.

sweeney todd

Posted: Friday, 29 February 2008 | Posted by k | Labels: , , , 1 comments

visually sweeney todd from its very first frame (i loved the opening credits in all its abstraction) was an immense pleasure for me.
i adored alan rickman's voice and it seemed obvious to us that he used the same timbre as in the potter-films. shivers... i loved one line that sweeney todd said whilst holding up his new/old razors: "At last! My arm is complete again!" it seems interesting that additionally to all the visual keys of him being 'different' he considers himself incomplete when without a prosthesis. screams very loud in one certain direction, does it not. not that i put in words so eloquently, but the last scene, i totally agree with fe, seems to be a reversed pièta and was just beautiful beyond words. the same goes for helena bonham carter - very yummy and tragically funny.

i loved how the innocent, be it thought or thing or living being, was practically erased (see: erase, raze, razor) from the plot ...
i found it mildly disturbing that i couldn't watch the ads before the movie itself without analysing their potential misogynistic attitude. so, my hidden creeping radicalisation, as wb put it, seems obvious to me now, too. well, but perhaps i will never be fundamental and radical.

i so loved being in the cinema!

i also watched pan's labyrinth in a very poor quality but very much enjoyed it. somehow 'the fantastic' has found a very solid base in my heart and is a source of constant stimulation and pleasure which is good. there should be more magic. which, quite obviously, is why i bought a sweater that looks very glittery, see here:

re: misogynistic or magic. not too much thereof in germany's next topmodel, sadly lacking glitter and magic and disturbing grace, at least when the first episode. it seems to be turning into another dsds (well, it never was anything else, i know!) what with forcing people to commit ridiculing crimes. i very much am for sandra at the moment but do think that jennifer and raquel are cool and i am so curious about what happens to gina lisa, seriously.

"ich möchte lieber nicht"

Posted: Thursday, 14 February 2008 | Posted by k | Labels: , , , 0 comments

i watched romero's "dawn of the dead" this morning after a healthy breakfast. everything stayed inside and i seriously have to rethink my attidtude towards horrormovies. it was very interesting, not at all unintelligent, in my humble opinion anyways. i cannot properly understand why they've put it on the index.

o, and lately there was "damage" on the telly. i so love jeremy irons, he makes my knees all melty and my heart all beaty ... (and i must confess my continued support of whimisicality) - there was this line which anna barton (juliette binoche) said to stephen flemming (jeremy irons): "Damaged people are dangerous. They know they can survive." i pretty much agree and hoped it would be otherwise. because we have to at least try to understand that not one single action takes place without damaging or violencing somebody or something. we're all elephants in a fucking big shop of fragile items that just scream of being shattered. but they're not breaking apart. nobody breaks apart. they're just moving millimeters. it seems allright. fine. but nothing is in place. and a bomb begins to tick. it might never explode literally. but still, we need to consider that this hideous violence in all our doings and relations to the world makes the world shift slightly. but they'll get back to you. they always will. even if it is just by the fact of putting up no signals when you're heading towards a cliff. guess what, cliffhangers are just for films.

and another film with juliette binoche i've only just recently seen was michael haneke's "caché" - you have to see it, that's really all there is to say. such tension, such brutal force of deconstructing 'realities', such brilliant acting and so little to do but accept failure and face responsibilities. amazing, also from a point of the film's filmic properties. brilliant.

tonight there was a lecture of one young dramaturg in some semi-shady place called wahlkreis in semi-shady mitte on reinhardtstraße (just no semi-shady blonde with me, but two brunettes who could easily be taken as my relatives) with kurt beck and die grauen panther at the wall (it was an event hosted by sdw, look that up and imagine the crowd, you might get a (however 'right') impression). he, the guy speaking, is doing his dissertation thesis on love and intrigue in harry potter which he also spoke about. i was, unfortunately, quite bored and wondering why he even has an (art)university diploma related to theatre when he obviously had no idea about his own effect apart from being the smartass. (he went to court for getting 1.0! he sued until everybody was pissed of with him. incidentally and speaking of ass, i have been on the loo when he was, too, which was funny). no, he made an effort which was done to no good effect to me. i guess, it pretty much showed that he attended carl hegemann's courses, what with quoting himself, schiller, goffman and wagnerian stuff. well, he said he was always compared to harry potter and his boss, some female minister from some unnamed ministery (where he was working some unspecified period), to dumbledore, that he started reading the books then and now likes harry best. i am really too much into severus snape to be prepared for discussion on that specific aspect of the potterverse. i mean, seriously ...

one trollop's gossip

Posted: Sunday, 10 February 2008 | Posted by k | Labels: , , , 0 comments

so, i have to confess, i am no good at telling sexual orientation. rather bad, really. anyways. came to think of it when speaking about possible job opportunity earlier and then tonight talking to fe about a person who is just delectable and was spotted there where i was.
there have been other people as well (who would have guessed, really, karl improve your dramaturgy):
obviously isabella rossellini who was wearing a rather mother guru like black dress with some white jewelery. dress was not showing figure or if so then not to best advantage... no, but delighted. she was giving interviews. i was watching from above, feeling oscillating between goddess and michel de certeau . wonder if 2 floors is high enough for such action.
anyways she was interviewed by dieter moor and many others, but didn't speak to the assembled people which i guess is alright. she drank water, like myself ( :) ) which was gerolsteiner which i cannot stand. well, then we had the cheap crew, lovely miss vaginal davis
, who, i cannot spare you, spent 10 minutes at the ladies' with make up bag, came back, sat classy in loungy chair, was being pampered and entertained by darling little boys (including the delectable which, obviously, is not telling the whole saga), one of whom came to press make up tissues when performance of cheap for their cheapy award ceremony was due. it's a thing i gave at least three seconds of thought, miss rossellini (have i told you that the green porno was really rather great - she incarnated different male insects and described the sex act of specified insects - great!) came, not too classy i guess, but was surrounded by cameras and even two autograph craving guys, whereas miss davis was the classy madame nana with the tissue thing and lovely guys, too. female classiness knows no boundaries.
anyways, who else. well, scarlett wasn't there which was no pity. enough female classiness with the misses davis, rossellini and little me.
spotted peaches and also guy maddin and jerry tartaglia (which made sense, because he was hosting the jack smith screening later on).
well, so much for the gossip which really is inspired by the lovely gossip studio cheap and the arsenal created in the atrium of sony centre. check it out, it's worth it, really: bar, b_books store (which is just a bookshop to die for (i, personally would rather kill for that specific place, because where'e the fun in being dead in a bookshop?). the buergels could tell you if they would be talking to you), cheap shop, installation art. nice. and you just might meet interesting people. or not.
fe had the nicest hair really. well perhaps apart from the delectable's ones.
